Hi, we’re the Real Ex’s

Sharing personal stories is a profound way to connect with others on a deeper level and cultivate empathy and understanding. When we open up about our experiences, challenges, and triumphs, we create a sense of shared humanity that resonates with people on a fundamental level. It's through these shared narratives that we realize we are not alone in our journeys; others have faced similar hurdles and emerged stronger on the other side.

This connection formed through storytelling is not only comforting but also instrumental in strengthening our relationships with others. The act of sharing personal stories has a transformative power to inspire and motivate. Hearing about someone who has conquered obstacles or achieved remarkable feats often stirs something within us, igniting a sense of possibility and hope.

Personal stories serve as a reminder that with determination and perseverance, anything is within our reach. They provide a source of inspiration that can fuel our own aspirations and dreams. Moreover, sharing our stories can be a cathartic experience, offering a sense of healing and release as we express our emotions, thoughts, and experiences.

By sharing our stories, we not only gain personal insights but also create an opportunity to receive support, advice, and encouragement from those who have walked similar paths. It's a reciprocal exchange where vulnerability begets connection and understanding.

The Real Ex’s advocate for the bravery and vulnerability required to share your stories, as they hold immense value in fostering connections, inspiring personal growth, and promoting healing. These narratives serve as a bridge that allows us to learn, empathize, and find solace in the shared experiences of our fellow human beings.

What people are saying about

the Real Ex's

  • The Real Ex’s of Portland are simply amazing. They are funny, honest, and work to empower women to live their best lives. They touch on tough topics in an inviting way while creating a safe space to all who listen. And they dive deep into topics women want to, and sometime need to, hear. When interviewed by them about my book they drew the story out of me. Not just the story I had written, but parts of my story allowing me to be brave and true to myself while promoting my book. They gave my words the brevity they deserved knowing that it would be impactful. And the best part was that the entire time I felt like I was chatting with a group of friends that I had known forever. If you have not listened to them yet, what are you waiting for? You won’t regret it!

  • I had the pleasure of being a guest on The Real Ex's of Portlands podcast featuring Sophie, Heather, and Amy. We started the morning with fresh baked biscuits and breakfast, joy, laughter, and a healthy dose of female empowerment. These women are special- protect them at all cost. After escaping a 22-year domestic violence relationship I told myself the only way I would ever make it out alive, through the post separation torture, and into a life that saturated me in joy was to speak... And to speak loudly in every forum I could. Blessedly using my voice to save myself has also helped other women feel seen and heard. Sophie, Heather, and Amy gave me a louder platform and extended my voice deeper reach by amplifying me to their audience. They helped me feel "normal" after years of living with skeletons in my closet; they helped me feel heard, believed, and most importantly worthy of grace. Thank you, ladies, for all that you do, for helping women build community and through that space: heal. You're amazing.

  • I had the absolute best time on "The Real Ex's of Portland" podcast with Amy, Sofie, and Heather. As a first-time podcast guest, I was a bit nervous, but they made the whole experience feel so comfortable and welcoming. These ladies know how to create an engaging and supportive space. On top of that, I've had the pleasure of attending some of their social events, and they are nothing short of amazing. It's not just about the stories, food, and wine—it's about the incredible group of women they bring together. 10/10 recommend, whether you're tuning in or showing up in person!
